Weekend Trial Report

Rain again - or didn't anyone notice.  Agility trial in Dixon was moved to Sacramento area with none of the group attending.

Christy and Rollo competed in Breed over the weekend.  She said the ground was a mess so she carried Rollo from car to building hoping not to slip in the mud.  Rollo took reserve on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.  Friday he earned a 2 point win.  All he needs now are 2 Majors.

Helen Marie and Striker worked on Rally Advance and Beginning Novice (obedience).  Striker earned 2 legs in Rally Advance and his first leg in Beginning Novice.  He was robbed of a third Rally leg but that's another story. He showed in Breed on Thursday taking Winner's Dog and 1 point.  Friday he took Reserve.

CONGRATULATIONS TO BOTH DOGS AND HANDLERS!
Looking a bit tired after a very long day!

Great weekend for sure, congratulations to Striker the all around dog.

Zorro tried for open obedience legs Sunday. Didn't quite Q but I was very pleased with his efforts. In the AM trial he had the best score for heeling/fig 8 losing only 3 1/2 points out of a possible 40 in his entire class. For him (Mr Distractible) that was amazing.

Thanks, Christy. I was glad that on Thurs I got to see Rollo get his Reserve...of course we all think he was the better dog! And the Z Man - he was just beautiful Sunday - such a shame he missed his drop, but what a recovery when he dropped the dumbbell on the return jump. The person standing next to me said she would have had to TELL her dog to pick it up, Z Man knew his job.

Thanks HM, I wish that run had been taped. That dumbbell recovery was mind boggling. For everyone who missed it, the dogs were moved to asphalt with NO MATTING. When Z came back over the jump with the dumbbell in his mouth he landed HARD on his front and I swear he said "Oof" on the landing. Since you can't talk and hold something in your mouth at the same time the dumbbell went flying. Z deftly picked it right up and ran right to me, but he was plainly rattled and did not sit, he stood facing me at a 10:00 position wondering what just happened. When the judge said "finish" I told Z "get around" he DID, ending up in perfect heel position. I could have kissed him! He lost 6 1/2 points on that exercise but I couldn't have been more proud of him if it had been 0 points off. My boy can think!
